Benjamin Baier (born 1987) is a Munich-based artist known for his colorful abstract works, characterized by intricate structures, dynamic color gradients, and a playful balance of order and intuition.

In his painting, he focuses on freedom and spontaneity in the creative process. His works captivate with their ability to draw viewers in, both up close and from a distance, as layers of color unfold freely to create depth and invite exploration of the interplay of color and form.

In addition to solo exhibitions in collaboration with Gaggenau, his works have become part of notable art collections, including the Allianz art collection, as well as various private collections.

Benjamin's works are created in his studios in Augsburg and Munich.

  • For many years, Benjamin worked exclusively with a conventional brush, but the structured, predictable process left little room for surprises.

Since he approaches life with a spontaneous spirit and considers this one of his strengths, he wanted to incorporate this element into his art. In search of more freedom in the painting process, he began using the painting knife and squeegee as tools.

Both tools allow him to break free from the limitations of traditional painting and bring a playful lightness to his work. By erasing previously applied elements, he mirrors the uninhibited spirit of a child—approaching each moment with curiosity and spontaneity, unafraid to start over or change direction. Just as a child draws in the sand, only to wipe the drawing away, Benjamin embraces the freedom to let go of control and allow unexpected results to emerge.

Reflecting on his work, Baier shares, "I hope my paintings inspire the viewer to discover new layers of emotion and meaning—and perhaps reconnect with their positive inner child.
